Ski Day

Monday- We skied all day!  It was fun and exhausting.
Tuesday- I rested.  Muscles I forgot I had were sore.  Skiing rocks!
Wednesday- 4 mile run(37min), 1 hour weight class
You ever sit down to stretch and then zone out?  Yeah, me neither.
I'll stretch tomorrow.  Today's breakfast.  Egg, pepper jack, tomato, avocado, taco sauce on whole wheat toast.  Way better than stretching.
Of course if I had my way I would eat a pop tart from Butter and Me Bakeshop every morning.  If I really, really had my way I would move into the bakery.  Oh, would I ever.
More on that tomorrow.
I got a ski trip to talk about!
We headed out for Flagstaff well before the sun.   Yawn.... the things we do for fun.
It was only 8 degrees when we arrived at the lodge.
The irony of me whining about the cold temps in the valley then driving 3 hours to colder temps was not lost on me.
In my defense, cold with snow is different.  Cold with snow and ski's is a 1000 times different.
Annnnnnd it made it into the low 40's by the end of the day.  So it really wasn't cold.
Riding the lift to the higher runs was the only time it felt a bit nippy.
Ty made it look cool and easy.  The boys did great out there.
It had been two years since they had been skiing so I was nervous they had forgotten everything.
Must be just like ridding a bike because they picked it right back up.
Object is steeper than it appears.
Actually it's just like riding a bike, I couldn't stay upright on my ski's same as my bike tires. ;-)  This hill owned me.  I think I should have just tucked and rolled.  It would have been easier and a lot less embarrassing.
Proof I made it to the bottom,
Not on a stretcher.
Normally a hill like this wouldn't trip me up but this run was really icy.  Like really.  The snowboarders sounded like snow cone  makers going down it.   I got ice in places I would prefer to never have ice.
I took my icy behind back to the easy slopes and hung out with the kids to let my bruised ego heal.
I had a blast hanging out with them.
We picked up little Miss from Ski School and she schooled us on how to tear up the slopes.
Man, I wish I was as close to the ground as she is.  She hits the ground and practically bounces back up.  When you're like 3 feet tall you have better bounce I guess.
Jealous.
We hit Wildflower Bread Company and ate like truckers before we headed back to the valley.

Winter, what?
Ahhhhhh home sweet, sweaty home.

  1. What, no pictures of you on the ground? Maybe the hill didn't own you after all!

  2. That looks like beautiful skiing! You do have the best of both worlds there.

That egg sandwich is right up my alley. I make one like that all the time!

  3. Woo-hoo! Good for you going skiing. Looks like you had a bluebird day too. Yeah, skiing is tough if you haven't done it in awhile, but keep it up - it's the most fun you can have in winter!! (of course this is coming from a skiing maniac!) :)
