Open to suggestions

3 mile run on the dreadmill and 20 minutes on the elliptical
I haven't run in 9 days.  I have been trying to embrace this time off but I'm over it.  I think it's rotten that I committed to taking it easy after Ironman and then when I got the urge to start training again I hurt my foot.
Sledding.
Lame.
I needed to know how my foot felt running.
I needed to run before I went crazy........er.
Surprisingly, my foot felt fine the whole run and the rest of the day.  I still rolled it out and iced it, which oddly enough made it hurt but I think I'm on the mend from whatever random injury I had.
Just say no to sledding and I should probably stop walking and chewing gum at the same time as well.
I can still feel tightness in my arch but it seems to be getting better.
Let's pray this trend continues because the Ragnar Relay is five and a half weeks away!!
I have an easy leg this year but I still don't want to be the weak link.  As much as I love Ragnar and my team, it would be selfish to run it if I was injured or untrained so I need to get on it.
Or find a replacement.
Lord, let's pray I don't need to do that.
That would be a one way ticket on the crabby train for me.
If anyone has any suggestions on what my ailment is or how to cure it, I'm open to suggestions.
It hurts right there.  It feels tight but also like I stepped on a rock and bruised it.  But it didn't.  At least I don't remember doing it.
So Doc, what's the diagnosis?  The cure?
Remember if you say don't run, I get to punch you.
Just kidding.
Not really.
In other news......
We are still living in the frozen tundra down here..  As you can tell by JoDee's frozen walk from the car to the gym.  I lost count on how many layers she shed when we got inside.
But honestly you know its cold when my first run after a running break is indoors.
Everyone is still tucking in their plants at night with random laundry because it's dipping into the 20's at night.
THE 20's?!?!?!
All those dreams I had of moving to the tundra this summer came true.
Be careful what you wish for people.
The kids are over being cold and really, really irritated the pool hasn't frozen over.
I just hope this weather breaks soon and we get our beautiful Arizona winter days back.
Cause I don't know how much longer I can keep doing headstands with this girl.
Seriously.
This is just a phase right?

  1. Yeah, I'm convinced that cold weather, with no snow, and kids don't mix well. Too much indoor time is not a good thing for them!

Hope your sledding injury (slightly funny) heals up soon. I can totally appreciate the fear of being sidelined for any length of time--there's nothing worse!

  2. Amputate. Yup, definitely amputate. You get ice cream when they do that, right?
