I'm failing in the blog department this week but I've been winning in the sweat department. Dark early mornings are tough but looking at the city lights makes it a bit better. Even if you have to climb a mountain to see them. About halfway up the climb I could feel JoDee trying to kill me with her thoughts.
She made it to the top like a champ and was rewarded with an amazing view of the city.
I love it up there.
I need you to know something before we can move on with this blog post.
Most days my lunch looks something like this.
My bowl is the big one. I find it most effective to get my daily vegetables in on fell swoop.
My snacks look a lot like this. Well, obviously I share the fruit. Much better than he does I might add.
I keep it healthy for the most part.
Despite what you are about to read I really do try to eat well.
Today my lunch looked like this. Oh how I wish I was a good blogger who snapped a picture after I cut into this awesomeness.
I met a friend for lunch at the Crepe Bar. This savory crepe was deliciously stuffed with chicken, cheese, pickled red peppers, pesto and I detected a hint of heaven in there as well. Some of the cheese oozed out onto the grill and crisped around the edge of the crepe.
For the love of all things cheesey it was amazing.
The little salad was perfectly dressed with a light vinaigrette and paired wonderfully with the crepe.
That little bit of greenery wasn't nearly enough to erase what came next.
Apple crepe with a maldon salted caramel. Scrumptious!
The apples were tart and perfectly cooked, the caramel wasn't heavy or overly sweet and the crepe was spot on!
I am already trying to figure out a reason to go back to the Crepe Bar.
I hear that tomorrow is gonna be sunny. Sounds like a good excuse to me, right?
Or maybe the fact that there is a Croissant Bakery right next door to the Crepe Bar is reason enough to celebrate.
It's like I died and gone to heaven. I mean really.
This is one of the three cases filled with goodies! I wish I had more time to explore this shop but I had a little guy to pick up from preschool.
I did grab a few croissants for the road. Naturally.
One cherry, one chocolate Bavarian cream and one almond.
I'm pretty sure God sent angels down to make almond croissants.
Upon further exploration it was determined that the whole family needs to investigate P. Croissants for a pastry.
I agree 100%.
After we have our bowl of steel cut oats and power smoothies for breakfast of course.
