After eating at my parents last night I knew I had to get out this morning and do something. That fried walleye and rhubarb crisp wasn't gonna work itself off.
It would be glorious if it did, though.
FYI- if your going to supper at someones house in South Dakota you'll probably be served fried walleye or rhubarb crisp, both if you're lucky and expect to top that salad with Dorthy Lynch. It's how we do it.
And it's gooooood.
So this morning I drug my sleepy self, it was 9am, out from under my cozy blankets, they were so warm, and headed to the gym for spin class, hell.
Steph met me there. She was overly bubbly. Whatever.
This morning's spin class was a major leg burning, heart pounding suffer fest. I was sweating like I was working out in a sauna.
Steph was
Mental note- don't forget a towel.
Even though I got me rear handed to me it felt so good.
When I was done.
I thought the fun ended at the gym but I had a preschool party at Chuck E. Cheeses that............wait, no that wasn't fun at all. That place is CrAzY! The fun really kept rollin when Miss Shelby decided not to let a little rain stop her from getting her 10 mile run in.
She is amazing and going to kill her first half marathon!
My husband Todd ran the first three and a half miles with her. Yeah, he's running now but that is a whole different post. Right now let's focus on how cute he looks with a girls powder blue jacket tied around his waist.
Awwwww
He's a nice guy, what can I say.
She ran three miles by herself, then I hooked up with her to finish off the last three and a half miles.
But not before I peddled her some goods. Whatcha need? I got it all. Shot bloks, gels, waffles, etc....
I forgot to tell her about using gels for longer races and training. Oops.
I'm an amazing coach.
Somehow the rain let up for Todd's half of the run but dumped on us for the last 3 miles. It wasn't cold though so it didn't really matter. It just made us feel tough.
So did passing that guy in the last mile.
Competitive? Us? Nah. ;-)
Side note- I kinda love running in the rain.
The only logical step on a rainy day.
The Pioneer Woman's Chicken and Noodles and a bacon, cheddar Biscone.
My life is complete.

Your blog post brought me back to my SD childhood. Love rhubarb crisp! And I'd nearly forgotten about Dorothy Lynch salad dressing. My folks always had a bottle on hand. Thanks for the memories.
