Sunday-6:02 bike(103 miles)
On Wednesday I was so cocky. I'm all "I crashed and I'm fine, take that!", blah, blah blah.
Then I went for a run. I made it three miles.
My hip/pelvis area was tight and hurting. I thought it was just sore and it would loosen up. It didn't, it got worse and worse each mile.
He said I injured my hip flexor- bad news.
He thinks though that some rest is all I need to get back out there-good news.
So, I had an unplanned rest week. It was weird. I tried not to go crazy and get too crabby. Tried.
Luckily the doc said I could ride on Sunday as long as I didn't hit the hills and I stopped immediately if my hips started hurting.
Doesn't get much flatter than that. It was a "wide open spaces" kinda ride today. I loved it.
My legs really, really didn't want to ride though after being so inactive all week. I spent the first 3 hours of the ride telling them to get going. They finally fell into a groove and my legs felt good the rest of the ride. Except for the last 15min, those were tough, I was really ready to get off my bike.
My elbow and wrist(road rash) complained most of the ride but my hips felt great- good news!
My 1st century ride in the books, awesome!
Overall it was a great ride and a super confidence booster.
8 weeks to Ironman!
My pity party and crying about my wounds wasn't the only reason wasn't posting last week.
I was helping out at my church on Friday. They threw a big County Fair for all the ladies.
Remember all the candy I
Well, my expertise didn't let us down.
The sweet shop was really.......sweet!! Gosh, I love candy.
And cotton candy!
It was a great night and a great distraction from the pity party I was having after Thursday's run.
I have a few great drink recipes from the fair and a cool cookie jar gift to share with you this week but not tonight.
6 hour bike rides make me sleepy.
